MURAL JAIME GARZÓN
Bogotá
2012
Jaime Garzón Forero was known as one of Colombia's greatest political comedians, however, his work was much more extensive, helping to translate the Constitution into indigenous languages and acting as a negotiator for the release of hostages with the FARC guerrillas, among others. Garzón was assassinated on 13 September 1999 in a crime orchestrated by the DAS - Colombia's Administrative Department of Security in collaboration with Colombian Armed Forces. This mural is a collective tribute that over the years has established itself as an unofficial memorial for the people of the city. For this reason, we have also actively transformed it over the last 10 years as an act of construction and reconstruction of the country's historical memory.
