Juan Camilo Alfonso (1987, Bogotá) is a Colombian visual artist.
Participatory projects in public space, mural painting, printing techniques and performances are at the core of his practice.
Based on the understanding of historical memory as a mean to rebuild broken social fabrics, Alfonso's projects call for social interactions to support reconciliation processes in different contexts.
In 2019, he graduated with honours from the Master's programme Art in Context at the Berlin University of the Arts - UdK Berlin. He has worked for more than ten years as a pedagogue in Germany, Colombia and different countries in Latin America.
Currently is part of the working group of the station urbaner kulturen of the nGbK in Hellersdorf, a member of the MAL Crew in Colombia, co-founder of ilali Studio, an artistic collective studio in Berlin and lastly the leader of the Red KunstCol, a network of colombian artist and cultural workers in Germany.
