CORTEZA
Colombia
2020
CORTEZA (bark in English) is an artistic format created to support the construction of peace in Colombia by generating spaces in which vulnerable dialogue can flourish. It consists of a series of woodcut workshops focused on creating corporal cartographies. By mapping our bodies, we document the marks, wounds and scars of the participants and share the experiences associated with each of them. In doing so, we process events that have shaped our bodies as our first territory and influenced some of our political and moral beliefs through artistic mediums. The first phase of the project took place in Bogotá from March to May 2019 in collaboration with the IDIPRON (District Institute for the Protection of Children and Adolescents). The results of this initial implementation were exhibited in the National Museum of Colombia's pedagogical room.
